We are seeking a Financial Accountant who is detailoriented, proactive, and eager to contribute to a supportive and collaborative finance team.
About the Position
In this role, you will assist in ensuring accurate financial reporting, smooth monthend processes, and overall compliance with statutory and audit requirements. You will work closely with finance leadership and crossfunctional departments to maintain strong internal controls and reliable financial operations.
What You Will Do
- Handle monthend tasks, including preparing and reviewing journals, processing batches, and completing reconciliations.
- Support management reporting by contributing to timely and accurate financial information.
- Coordinate with auditors by preparing required documentation and responding to audit queries.
- Assist with statutory reporting obligations and compliance actions.
- Process intercompany entries and maintain accurate records.
- Analyse monthly P&L results and discuss insights with senior finance members.
- Prepare balance sheet reporting packs for review.
- Contribute to improvements in financial processes and controls
- Support the implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain adherence to internal policies, security requirements, and data management standards.
- Uphold workplace conduct expectations, ensuring a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Follow all Work Health & Safety procedures and report any hazards as required.
Skills & Qualities We're Looking For
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal control frameworks.
- Experience with fixed asset, lease, or intangible asset accounting is beneficial.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with major ERP/accounting systems (Oracle highly regarded).
- Ability to interpret and communicate financial data clearly.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work effectively under deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Selfmotivated, collaborative, and professional.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA/CA qualifications (or working towards) are not mandatory but advantageous.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial accounting or a background in external audit.
- Knowledge of corporate tax is a plus.
- Full working rights in Australia.
- Language skills such as Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Cantonese, or other East/Southeast Asian languages are an advantage.
