As a senior member of the corporate governance function, you will provide authoritative advice across governance, risk, assurance, planning, and performance frameworks while partnering with executives, senior leaders, and key stakeholders to deliver best-practice outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of governance, risk, planning and performance frameworks
- Provide expert advice to executives and senior stakeholders on governance, risk management and assurance matters
- Support governance activities including internal audit, legal matters, insurance programs and information management obligations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance organisational capability and governance maturity
- Prepare high-level reports, briefs, submissions and recommendations for executive leadership and governance committees
- Facilitate risk workshops, governance forums and communities of practice to strengthen organisational capability
- Build productive relationships across government and stakeholder groups to influence positive outcomes
- Support strategic projects that contribute to organisational objectives and accountability requirements
- Develop governance tools, frameworks and resources that promote effective decision-making and risk awareness
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in governance, risk management, planning, performance or assurance functions
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks, risk controls and accountability requirements
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, consultation and influencing skills
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience preparing executive-level reports, submissions and briefing materials
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a complex environment
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to provide strategic advice to senior leaders
- Experience within Queensland Government or a similar public sector environment will be highly regarded
