Position Overview
This is a interesting and highly engaging opportunity where you will support Japanese companies expanding into Australia, as well as assist Australian and New Zealand companies with their investment into Japan. If you speak both English and Japanese in business level, we would like to hear from you. This is entry level so the similar experience is NOT necessary.
(1) Business Development
- Support Japanese companies exporting to Australia and New Zealand
- (business matching, handling inquiries, promoting program/event participation)
- Identify new buyers in Australia/NZ and encourage registration on web
- Assist with overseas e-commerce projects
- Operate invite-only online buyer catalogue
- - propose Japanese products and facilitate business matching
- Write articles promoting Japanese products in the Australia/NZ markets
- Respond to export-related inquiries from Japan via email, online meetings, or in-person consultations
(2) Communication & Coordination
- Communicate and coordinate in both Japanese and English with:
- Japanese companies
- Australian/NZ manufacturers, importers, retailers, restaurants, startups, etc.
- Liaise with Japanese government agencies as well as Australian/NZ federal and state governments and related organizations
(3) Coordination with HQ and Other Offices
- Share information, coordinate activities, and report on project operations
(4) Administrative Tasks
- Handle internal procedures such as expenditure approvals and reimbursement processing
(5) Other Duties
- Provide general office support as needed
- Domestic and international travel may be required
- Expected team structure:
- Managing Director
- BD Director (Japanese)
- Four team members (including this role)
- Reporting line:
- Primary: BD Director
- Secondary: Managing Director or senior management depending on tasks
(1) Required Skills
- Basic PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic event operation skills (stakeholder coordination, task management, on-site support)
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English
(2) Preferred Skills
- Experience with online mall operations or similar platforms
- Knowledge of trade and international business
- Some customer support experience
(3) Other
- Experience in similar roles is welcome but not mandatory
- Unlimited work rights
