HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced EL1 Specialist Advisor, Employment Suitability and Workforce Integrity to support a large government agency located in DEAKIN ACT. This is a unique opportunity to lead the development and continuous improvement of employee suitability frameworks and integrity processes across the organisation.
About the Role
In this pivotal role, you will lead specialist work focused on strengthening workforce integrity, personnel security, and suitability management across the full employment lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design, consultation, and implementation of contemporary employee suitability frameworks covering pre-employment through to ongoing monitoring
- Ensuring alignment with protective security, personnel security, APS integrity, and risk‑based
- Providing authoritative advice on complex suitability and workforce integrity cases, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies
- Strengthening pre‑employment screening settings and integrating screening requirements into recruitment workflows
- Developing structured approaches to ongoing suitability monitoring and supporting the management of integrity‑related workforce risks
- Assisting with governance processes relating to high‑risk roles and workforce role risk frameworks
- Refreshing policies, procedures, and guidance materials to improve consistency across personnel security, workplace integrity, fraud, audit, and governance functions
- Leading complex workstreams, providing mentoring, and championing a culture of integrity and ethical behaviour across the organisation

About You
You will bring specialist expertise in personnel security, workforce integrity, and suitability assessment, ideally within a government or high‑compliance environment. The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience applying PSPF requirements to workforce lifecycle processes
- Significant background in vetting, suitability assessment, or personnel security roles
- Proven ability to analyse complex personal information and make defensible suitability recommendations
- Experience developing or applying structured assessment methodologies or risk
- Excellent written skills, including preparing suitability assessments, briefs, and decision documents
- High discretion when handling sensitive information
- Demonstrated capability to lead reforms, governance processes or uplift activities
