HOBAN Recruitment is seeking experienced Scribes / Transcription Officers to support a Federal Government court and tribunal services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a fully remote role while contributing to the delivery of critical legal transcription services.
About the Role
As a Transcription Officer, you will be responsible for producing accurate, high-quality transcripts of court proceedings from audio and live recordings. You'll play an essential role in supporting court operations by ensuring transcripts are delivered within strict timeframes and to rigorous standards.
Work Arrangement
- 100% Work from Home (Australia-based)
- Primary working location must be a secure home office or suitable workspace within Australia
- Start Date: Monday 22nd July
Important:
You must be available on Monday 22nd July to attend one of the below capital cities for briefing, induction and equipment collection:
- Melbourne
- Sydney
- Brisbane
- Adelaide
- Perth
(Additional in-person attendance may be required for induction/training if needed.)
Pay & Conditions
- $49.09 per hour + super
- Casual/non-ongoing assignment
- Work undertaken in minimum 4-hour blocks
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate transcripts from audio, video and live recordings
- Edit, proofread and quality-check transcripts to meet court standards
- Manage and store transcript records in line with compliance requirements
- Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and service expectations
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience as a scribe / transcription officer (essential)
- Excellent typing speed (minimum 70 WPM) and accuracy
- Strong written English, comprehension and attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and digital transcription tools
- Experience in a legal, court or tribunal environment (highly regarded)
Mandatory Requirements
- Must pass a typing / transcription test
- Must hold a current Police Check
- Must be an Australian Citizen and based in Australia
