Location: State Logistics Centre, 500 South Street, Marsden Park
Contract: 3 months initially, with possibility of extension

About the Role
The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) is seeking an experienced Project Officer to provide short-term, flexible support within the Technical Product Team.
The team is responsible for evaluating and supplying essential equipment and protective clothing used by firefighters across NSW. This includes:
- Bushfire and structural firefighting protective clothing (including footwear)
- Critical safety equipment (helmets, gloves, respiratory masks, AEDs, first aid kits)
- Firefighting foam and chemicals
- Small plant and powered hand tools
- Firefighting equipment such as hoses and nozzles
This role will focus on day-to-day contract and project support, tracking project activities, and ensuring records and documentation are accurate, current, and well organised.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide contract administration and project officer-level support
- Track project activities, milestones, and deliverables
- Maintain accurate records, registers, and project documentation
- Support procurement and tender processes, including evaluation and awarding
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
- Ensure project support aligns with operational firefighting requirements
About You
This role will suit someone who brings NSW Government procurement and contract expertise, practical project management experience, and an appreciation of the operational environment of the NSW Rural Fire Service.
You will demonstrate:
- Proven experience preparing high-quality written reports, briefs, and correspondence
- Strong ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Experience supporting end-to-end tender processes, including documentation, evaluation, and award
- Experience conducting research and contributing to the development and implementation of tenders
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- An understanding of, or ability to quickly adapt to, firefighting operations and environments
