APS 6 level Senior Training Design Officer

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced APS6 level Senior Training Design Officer to support the design, development and continuous improvement of culturally safe training programs located in DEAKIN CANBERRA ACT. This position plays a key role in uplifting capability across the organisation, with a strong focus on supporting positive outcomes for First Nations people with disability.
This is an Identified position requiring demonstrated commitment to cultural safety and responsiveness.
About the Role
- Develop culturally safe, engaging and inclusive training packages aligned with workforce needs.
- Apply adult learning and instructional design principles to create high-quality learning experiences.
- Co-design training materials in partnership with First Nations stakeholders to ensure relevance and cultural integrity.
- Produce a range of learning resources including facilitator guides, participant materials, eLearning and induction content.
- Support piloting, evaluation, and continuous improvement of training programs.
- Participate in governance, reporting, and project coordination activities.
- Represent the branch in relevant forums and contribute to culturally safe workforce capability uplift.

About You
You will be a values-driven learning professional with:
- Demonstrated experience in instructional design, adult learning and training development.
- Strong understanding of cultural safety and First Nations perspectives.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate complex projects effectively
- Commitment to inclusive practices, trauma‑informed approaches and continuous improvement
- Relevant qualifications in education, training, HR or related fields (TAE40122 highly desirable).
- Experience working with First Nations communities highly regarded.
