ASO5-Level Test Analyst (Finance Reform Program)

A large government program is seeking an experienced ASO5-level Test Analyst to join a significant Finance Reform initiative transforming financial management processes across multiple agencies.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high‑profile, whole‑of‑government system replacement project involving the rollout of a new contemporary financial management system.
About the Role
The Test Analyst will work closely with the Test Lead to conduct system testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing and end‑to‑end testing activities. The role requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail and the capability to work across complex functional and technical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering high‑quality testing of system configuration and business processes
- Execute test plans and manage test cycles across all phases (System, SIT, UAT)
- Prepare data, load test files and conduct end‑to‑end testing
- Develop, identify and modify test scenarios and scripts
- Participate in daily testing calls and defect triage meetings
- Record test outcomes and update test schedules promptly
- Analyse and escalate defects and issues as required
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with legislative requirements
- Promote Public Sector values, including EEO and WHS compliance
Essential Requirements
- Police Check issued within 12 months
- General understanding of finance processes in complex organisations
- Experience with testing methods, test documentation and system workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in team environments
- High attention to detail, strong problem‑solving skills
- Competency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to handle competing demands in a fast‑paced environment
- Understanding of relevant legislation including Code of Ethics, EEO, WHS Act 2012
- Ability to apply AS ISO 31000:2018 Risk Management principles
