We are seeking an experienced ASO6‑level Project Officer to deliver a rostering‑related project within a large government environment. This role focuses on workforce scheduling, system configuration, stakeholder engagement and training delivery.
This is an exciting short‑term opportunity for someone who enjoys working across operational teams, driving improvements, and contributing to workforce optimisation initiatives.
About the Role
You will be responsible for managing a dedicated rostering project that requires strong knowledge of best‑practice scheduling principles, including meal‑break rules, workforce entitlements, and operational compliance.
A key component of the role includes supporting the configuration and optimisation of workforce management systems-ideally UKG Workforce Pro (formerly Dimensions) or similar.
This position will work closely with operational stakeholders to develop training materials, tailor communication strategies and ensure frontline staff are equipped to adopt new processes successfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of a rostering‑related project from planning through to completion.
- Apply best‑practice scheduling knowledge, including meal‑break and entitlement rules.
- Configure, maintain or support workforce planning systems (UKG Workforce Pro highly desirable).
- Engage with key stakeholders to develop targeted training for frontline teams.
- Identify the most effective communication channels to drive training completion.
- Provide regular project progress updates to the Rostering & Workforce Management Lead.
- Promptly escalate issues or risks as they arise.
About You
- Strong background in rostering, scheduling or workforce management.
- Experience configuring or working with workforce planning systems (UKG Workforce Pro highly regarded).
- Ability to translate operational requirements into clear training and communication materials.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Proactive problem‑solver with the ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment.
- Confident in delivering outcomes within fast‑paced, high‑volume workplaces.
