HR Business Partner - 12-Month On-Hire Assignment
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to support a major global organisation in their Australian operations. This is a 12-month on-hire assignment, ideal for a self-sufficient HR professional who can operate as the sole HR presence in Melbourne while collaborating with a manager based overseas.
About the Role
Working as part of a wider global HR team, you will support a key business portfolio and contribute to the organisation's people strategy. This role suits an HR generalist comfortable managing a broad range of responsibilities with moderate complexity, providing guidance, coaching, and operational HR support across all levels of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice to leaders and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related matters.
- Support leaders with organisational and individual effectiveness issues.
- Develop and deliver leadership coaching, team development, and cultural initiatives.
- Prepare and deliver training materials to enhance leadership capability.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, supporting strategic HR and D&I initiatives.
- Oversee communication activities for the local business unit.
- Create and execute change management and communication plans for project work.
- Ensure compliance with relevant labour laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
What We're Looking For
- Degree qualification or equivalent professional experience in Human Resources.
- Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment legislation, and best practice.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-engagement skills across all levels.
- High level of confidentiality and sound judgement.
- Strong capability in analysing situations, making informed decisions, and managing risk.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Workday, Teams, or SharePoint desirable.
- Exposure to total rewards processes beneficial.
- Full working rights for Australia (mandatory).
