Blacktown City Council is seeking a passionate and driven Environmental Project Officer to help shape a more sustainable future for one of Australia's most diverse and dynamic cities.
In this key role, you'll deliver environmental programs, climate action initiatives, and community education campaigns that promote sustainability across Council and the wider Blacktown community.
🌏 About the Role
As Environmental Project Officer, you will:
- Implement environmental sustainability initiatives and climate change programs
- Support the delivery of Council's Climate Change Action and Adaptation Plan
- Coordinate environmental education and engagement activities
- Contribute to reporting, policy development, and strategic planning
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
🕒 Full-time, up to 3 years
💰 $51.95 per hour + Superannuation
💼 Based in Blacktown, NSW
✅ About You
We're looking for someone with:
- A degree in Environmental Science or a related field
- Experience in local government or a similar regulatory/strategic environment
- Strong knowledge of environmental sustainability and climate change issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- A current NSW Driver's Licence (Class C)
