A state government agency is seeking a PO3 Engineer (Civil) to provide technical expertise, project support, and development assessment services across the State-controlled Road network.

- Rate: PO3 Equivalent of $65.79 p/h + Superannuation
About the Role:
The PO3 Engineer (Civil) will support multiple road infrastructure projects, providing engineering input, technical advice, and project management support under supervision of senior engineering staff. The role involves assessing third-party development applications, reviewing technical designs, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
This position is well suited to a proactive and technically competent professional who can manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and contribute to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects within a state government environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical advice on development control and third-party activities affecting the State-controlled Road network.
- Assess applications and conduct technical design reviews under the Planning Act 2016 and Transport Infrastructure Act 1994.
- Prepare technical reports, respond to public queries, and assist with Ministerial correspondence.
- Monitor compliance with approval conditions and audit third-party works to ensure adherence to legislative and project requirements.
- Manage projects or project elements under supervision, supporting planning, design, and quality management processes.
- Maintain effective communication and liaison with internal teams, external stakeholders, and contractors.
- Provide information and support for the investigation of complaints or requests relating to development assessments and third-party works.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project outcomes and processes.
- Other duties as required
Mandatory Requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), 4-year, Washington Accord-accredited or equivalent assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia.
- Current Class C driver's licence.
- Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
- Own suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Successful Criminal History Screening. (We will lodge for you)
- Full Australian Working Rights
Highly Regarded:
- Experience in civil engineering roles within a state government or public sector environment.
- Exposure to road infrastructure project planning, design, or assessment functions.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Planning Act 2016 and Transport Infrastructure Act 1994.
- Experience managing projects or project elements under supervision.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and report-writing skills.
