A respected Federal Government Agency is seeking a Temporary APS5 Internal Review Officer (Labour Hire) to undertake reviews of participant funding and access decisions within a high-performing policy and service environment.

About the Role:
 Reporting to the APS6 Team Leader, the APS5 Internal Review Officer will be responsible for managing a caseload of internal review requests, ensuring decisions are delivered in a timely, evidence based, and legally compliant manner. The role plays a critical part in upholding fairness, integrity, and consistency in decision making while supporting applicants through the review process. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical capability, sound judgement, and exceptional communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess participant or applicant requests for internal review.
- Engage with participants, applicants, and their representatives to gather relevant information.
- Prepare clear, evidence-based decisions aligned with legislative and policy requirements.
- Communicate review outcomes and provide advice regarding the appeals process.
- Monitor and manage a caseload to ensure reviews are completed within set timeframes.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance internal review processes and service delivery.
- Other duties as required
Mandatory Requirements:
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a focus on evidence-based outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to handle sensitive or complex matters with empathy and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence working with case management or information systems.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- You must be an Australian Citizen to be considered for this federal government position.
Desirable Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in law, social work, psychology, disability studies, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in government, social services, or the disability sector.
- Understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and demonstrated cultural sensitivity.
