- Large-scale onboarding and induction programs
- Continuous improvement initiatives
- E-learning and microlearning solutions
- Video-on-demand learning resources
- Training to support organisational change and reform initiatives
- Learning programs for external stakeholders and community partners
Key Responsibilities
As an APS5 Instructional Designer, you will:
- Design, develop and maintain high-quality learning solutions across multiple delivery formats
- Conduct learning needs and performance gap analyses
- Develop eLearning content using Articulate Rise and Storyline
- Create facilitator guides, learner workbooks, self-paced learning resources and on-the-job support tools
- Translate complex and technical concepts into clear, engaging and accessible learning content
- Consult with stakeholders to identify learning requirements and develop tailored training solutions
- Support blended learning approaches aligned to adult learning principles and best-practice capability development methodologies
- Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions and support facilitator capability uplift
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and learning governance processes
- Ensure all learning products meet accessibility requirements and WCAG standards
- Collaborate closely with instructional designers, facilitators, subject matter experts and business stakeholders
You will be a learning and development professional with experience designing engaging training solutions in a corporate, government, or operational environment:
- Instructional design experience within a Learning & Development environment
- Strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies
- Experience developing eLearning and blended learning solutions
- Proficiency with:
- Articulate Storyline (highly regarded)
- Articulate Rise
- Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong stakeholder engagement and consultation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail
- Ability to work within established processes while bringing creativity to learning design
- Experience translating learning outcomes into high-quality training content
- 2-3+ years' experience in instructional design or learning and development
- Qualification in Training & Assessment, Adult Education, Learning & Development, Instructional Design or a related discipline
- Experience facilitating training programs or trainer familiarisation sessions
- Experience in operational training environments
- Experience developing learner-centred and co-designed learning materials
- Understanding of accessibility principles and WCAG requirements
- Knowledge of, or lived experience within, the disability sector
