We are seeking an Operational Systems & Procedure Officer to support a major treatment plant operation in Berri. This unique opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys learning how facilities operate and translating that knowledge into high-quality operational documentation. The role will focus on developing, reviewing, and improving plant operating procedures that support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
About the Role During the first three months, you'll work closely with operational teams to gain a thorough understanding of the plant, its equipment, and its processes. Once familiar with site operations, you'll take ownership of a significant documentation project involving approximately 180 operating procedures, including updating existing procedures and creating new ones from the ground up.
This is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in a technical operational environment while making a lasting impact on safety, compliance, knowledge retention, and operational excellence.

- Learn plant operations, systems, and treatment processes through hands-on site exposure
- Review, develop, and maintain operating procedures, work instructions, and supporting documentation
- Document operational workflows and translate technical processes into user-friendly procedures
- Work closely with operators, coordinators, and technical stakeholders to validate documentation
- Support standardisation of operational practices and document control processes
- Maintain version control, document reviews, and change tracking
- Develop troubleshooting guides, operational reference materials, and training resources
- Identify opportunities to improve operational documentation and process consistency
- Assist with audits, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Requirements
- Strong administrative skills with advanced Microsoft Word capability
- Current driver's licence
- Experience within a process, production, manufacturing, mining, water treatment, or similar operational environment
- Ability to understand, follow, and document operational procedures
- Strong written communication and technical documentation skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
- Experience in a water treatment environment
- Experience within mining or other industrial processing operations
- Previous experience developing procedures, SOPs, or work instructions
