HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced EL1 Legislative Policy & Reform Officer to join a high-performing Commonwealth Government agency. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior policy professional to lead legislative reform initiatives, provide strategic policy advice, and contribute to regulatory and safeguarding outcomes that make a genuine difference.

Working within a specialist legislative policy team, you will drive complex reform projects, develop policy positions and implementation strategies, and engage with a broad range of stakeholders across government and the community.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, review and reform of legislation, regulations and policy frameworks.
- Provide strategic policy advice on complex regulatory, safeguarding and operational matters.
- Prepare high-quality briefs, submissions, executive papers and governance documentation.
- Develop consultation materials and coordinate stakeholder engagement activities.
- Manage legislative and regulatory reform projects from planning through implementation.
- Identify policy, regulatory and operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support governance processes, board and executive reporting requirements.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with government agencies and sector stakeholders.
- Competitive pay rate of $ 79.49 per hour at EL1 Level, including casual loading, providing you with financial stability and recognition for your expertise.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Significant experience in legislative policy, regulatory reform or government policy development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide evidence-based advice on complex issues.
- Experience developing policy papers, executive briefs, submissions and recommendations for senior decision-makers.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and consultation skills across government and external organisations.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to influence and build trusted relationships.
- Experience working within regulatory, legal, social policy or public sector environments will be highly regarded.
- A current Baseline Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
