Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineer - Contract (10 Months)

We are currently recruiting on behalf of Cummins Filtration, a global leader in engine and filtration solutions, for a Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineer to join their high-performing engineering team.

This is a 10-month contract opportunity supporting key product engineering projects, with strong potential for extension or permanent placement.

About the Role

Based at the Scoresby Head Office, this role focuses on product engineering and change management, supporting updates to engine components and filtration systems.

You'll act as a key coordination point across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams, ensuring product changes are effectively implemented and documented.

Key Details

• 📍 Location: Scoresby Head Office (2 Caribbean Drive, Scoresby VIC 3179)
• 🕘 Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (flexible)
• 🏡 Hybrid: 40% onsite / 60% WFH
• 🤝 Preferred onsite days: Monday & Thursday
• 💰 Rate: $55 per hour + Super
• 📅 Contract: 10 months (project-based, extension likely)
• 🩺 Pre-employment medical required

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and document engineering changes to engine and filtration components
• Investigate product issues and support root cause analysis
• Coordinate across internal teams including design, manufacturing, and supply chain
• Oversee CAD modelling and engineering drawings (not heavily design-focused)
• Work within ERP systems and structured engineering processes
• Support product lifecycle activities including validation and testing

About You

• Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
• Exposure to:
  
  
  • Engineering change management
  • CAD software (ideally Creo)
  • Engine systems, filtration, or heavy component environments
  • ERP systems and technical tools
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A positive, team-first attitude - personality is key

This role is ideal for an early-career engineer (internship, graduate, or 1-3 years experience) looking to gain hands-on product engineering exposure with a global organisation.
