Maintenance and Merchandising Handyman

About the role
You will support the sales and merchandising function by preparing and installing display materials, maintaining showroom and retail presentation standards, and carrying out general maintenance tasks across multiple areas. The role requires flexibility, the ability to prioritise tasks, and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards.
Key responsibilities
Merchandising & Sales Support
- Fabricating, preparing and installing display materials to required standards and deadlines
- Selecting, preparing and maintaining product samples and display boards
- Supporting external sales teams by delivering and installing displays, fixtures and units at retail and commercial sites
- Reviewing and maintaining retail displays to ensure consistent, high-quality presentation
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
Showroom & Discontinued Stock Areas
- Installing new displays and removing obsolete or discontinued materials
- Replenishing showroom libraries and ensuring all areas remain presentable and compliant with OH&S standards
- Maintaining discontinued stock areas when required to support customer access and sales
General Maintenance
- Completing minor repairs and handyman-style tasks (e.g. fixing fixtures, basic repairs and installations)
- Assisting with light external maintenance and site presentation tasks
- Ensuring all work is completed within your competency, licensing requirements and OH&S guidelines
About you
You're a reliable, hands-on team player who enjoys working across different environments and takes pride in quality workmanship and presentation. You're comfortable using tools, can manage competing priorities, and understand the importance of safety and customer experience.
Essential requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Basic computer skills (email, Word or similar)
- Customer-focused mindset
- Strong commitment to safe work practices
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Forklift licence
- Trade-related or tiling experience
- Understanding of colour, texture and visual presentation
- Experience with inventory or database systems
