Are you a dedicated Dental Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in children's oral health? We're recruiting for a dynamic role supporting a mobile dental outreach and school-based oral health program. This position combines clinical support with community engagement - bringing preventative and restorative dental care directly to schools across the region.
About the Program
Our school-focused dental initiative delivers high-quality preventive and restorative dental services for students through scheduled visits to participating schools across South Australia. We collaborate with educational settings to deliver efficient, accessible care that supports healthy habits and prevents dental issues before they become serious.
Key Responsibilities
Assist dentists and oral health therapists in clinical procedures (e.g., examinations, cleanings, fluoride treatments, radiographs).
Prepare instruments, equipment, and mobile clinic setups for school-based visits.
Ensure strict adherence to infection control, sterilisation protocols and workplace safety standards.
Educate young patients about oral hygiene and assist with behaviour management during appointments.
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with administrative tasks as required.
Support logistics of mobile clinic operations (setup, pack-down, equipment inventory).
Skills & Experience (Ideal Candidate)
Minimum ~2 years' experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental clinic or mobile setting.
Certificate III (or equivalent) in Dental Assisting or related accreditation preferred.
Comfortable working in varying environments (schools & clinics)
Strong interpersonal skills - confident working with children and parents.
Excellent teamwork, organisational ability, and adaptability.
