Japanese Speaking Operations Manager

Our client is a well-established international organisation within the food import and distribution industry. Due to continued business growth, they are seeking an experienced Japanese-speaking Operations Manager to lead and oversee their Queensland operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader who enjoys managing day-to-day operations, driving continuous improvement, and working closely with both Australian and Japanese stakeholders.
About the Role
Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the businwss while leading a team to deliver exceptional customer service and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the business.
Lead, coach, and develop the operations, warehouse, and administration team.
Oversee inventory management, stock control, and warehouse operations.
Coordinate logistics and distribution to ensure on-time deliveries.
Identify and implement operational improvements to increase efficiency.
Ensure compliance with company policies, workplace health and safety, and food safety standards.
Prepare operational reports and monitor branch performance.
Liaise with customers, suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
Communicate regularly with the Japanese headquarters and local management team.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning activities.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Business-level Japanese and English communication skills (spoken and written).
Previous experience in an Operations Manager, Branch Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Warehouse Manager, or similar leadership role.
Strong leadership, organisational, and people management skills.
Experience within distribution, FMCG, logistics, wholesale, or supply chain environments will be highly regarded.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
A proactive, hands-on, and customer-focused approach.
