Cook - Health / Aged Care Setting

A well‑established health service is seeking an experienced Cook to join its catering team. This role supports daily meal preparation for patients, residents, and staff, ensuring meals are delivered safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve bulk meals, including special dietary meals
• Plate meals, collate menus, and organise food orders
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and correct storage procedures
• Liaise with nursing staff and dietitians regarding dietary needs
• Assist with kitchen organisation, rosters, and daily operations
• Operate kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness
• Provide guidance to other catering staff when required

About You

• Experience cooking in a health, aged care, catering, or commercial kitchen
• Ability to prepare meals for dietary requirements
• Good communication skills and a team‑focused attitude
• Able to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and work independently
• Understanding of safe food handling and workplace safety
• Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office)
• Able to maintain confidentiality and work respectfully with diverse groups

Requirements

• National Police Check (NPC) - working with vulnerable groups
• DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC)
• Current Australian work rights
• Driver's licence
• Willingness to meet immunisation requirements
