Senior Finance Manager

HOBAN Recruitment is partnering with our client to recruit an experienced Senior Financial Manager for a permanent full-time position. This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director and General Manager, responsible for overseeing end-to-end financial operations and supporting strategic decision-making.

About the Role

You will lead daily financial management, ensure compliance across all reporting areas, and provide vital financial insights to senior leadership. This role encompasses everything from cash flow management through to international trade finance and high-level reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage daily cash flow
  
• Lead weekly budgeting and support long-term financial planning
  
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes
  
• Prepare and lodge BAS statements
  
• Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance
  
• Produce detailed financial reports and present to senior management
  
• Manage monthly reporting obligations to banks
  
• Ensure statutory compliance and liaise with external auditors
  
• Oversee payroll with strong knowledge of awards and Fair Work standards
  
• Manage AP/AR functions, including following up outstanding payments
  
• Handle trade finance facilities, including pre- and post-shipment loans
  
• Manage Letters of Credit, LC confirmations, discounting, and UCP rules
  
• Oversee insurance matters including Marine Insurance and Open Credit Cover
  
• Manage Foreign Exchange and FEC contracts
  
• Ensure compliance with international trade and tax requirements (China, USA, EU)
  
• Act as key contact for auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies
  
• Respond to financial queries efficiently and professionally
  
• Identify opportunities to enhance process and operational efficiency
  

About You

You will bring a strong technical foundation, commercial acumen, and the ability to operate confidently in a complex, high-volume environment. Requirements include:

• CA/CPA qualification
  
• Experience in agriculture and trade finance
  
• Strong technical accounting knowledge aligned with Australian standards
  
• Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail
  
• Proficiency in MYOB and advanced Excel
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  
• Collaborative team mindset
  
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
