Our client, a leading global Japanese corporation, is seeking a Japanese Speaking Assistant Manager - Accounting to join their Sydney office. The company continues to expand in Australia, offering a stable and professional environment with strong growth potential. 
About the Role: 
The Assistant Manager - Accounting supports the efficient and accurate operation of the Sydney office's finance and accounting functions. This role involves managing a wide range of accounting, payroll, and reporting tasks while ensuring compliance with company policies and Australian accounting standards. You will work closely with the Finance & Administration Manager, General Manager, and Head Office in Japan. 
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Handle AP/AR, employee expense claims, and payments in line with company policies.
- Support payroll processing, including superannuation and PAYG compliance.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist with FBT calculations, tax compliance, and internal control procedures.
- Liaise with banks for transfers, FX transactions, and cash flow monitoring.
- Coordinate financial data exchange and communication with Head Office.
- Support JSOX compliance and financial audits when required.
Skills & Experience:
- 3 years + of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a corporate or Japanese-affiliated company.
- Understanding of accounting principles and Australian regulations.
- Experience with payroll, FBT, superannuation, and PAYG preferred.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Xero or MYOB is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Business-level Japanese language skills (spoken and written) highly regarded.
