About the Opportunity
HOBAN Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Project Coordinator with major event experience to join our team on a temporary contract, working closely with our client onsite in the lead-up to and throughout the event in January 2027, including bump-in, live operations and bump-out.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key coordination role in the delivery of a major sporting event. You will be responsible for coordinating daily labour requirements and supporting the effective management of labourers and forklift drivers across the event build, site readiness, bump-in and bump-out phases.

About the Role
As Project Coordinator, you will work closely with our client and onsite stakeholders to ensure labour resources are effectively planned, coordinated and deployed throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating daily labour requirements across multiple work areas and zones
• Managing and coordinating teams of general labourers and forklift drivers
• Supporting workforce planning for event build and site readiness
• Coordinating labour during bump-in, live operations and bump-out
• Preparing daily workforce requirements, allocations, and schedules
• Communicating shift requirements and operational updates to workers
• Liaising with our client, external stakeholders, contractors, and onsite teams
• Monitoring attendance, productivity, and workforce performance
• Ensuring workers are appropriately allocated based on skills, licences, tickets, and operational requirements
• Maintaining accurate workforce records, timesheets, and daily reporting
• Supporting a safe, organised, and efficient working environment
• Providing regular updates to HOBAN and our client through an online workforce management system
• Responding quickly to changing operational requirements and workforce needs

About You
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive coordinator who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, major event environment.
You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in project coordination, workforce coordination, logistics, events, construction, or site operations
• Experience managing or coordinating large casual workforces
• Experience coordinating labourers and/or forklift operators
• Previous experience working on major events or large-scale projects
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and changing requirements
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
• Confidence communicating with workers, contractors, clients, and senior stakeholders
• The ability to remain calm, proactive, and solutions-focused under pressure
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• A current driver's licence is desirable
