APS 5 Publishing Officer

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced APS5 Web Services Publishing Officer based in CANBERRA to join a high-performing Federal Government agency within the Strategic Communications Division. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in digital publishing, content management systems and web accessibility to contribute to the delivery of accessible, user-focused digital content.
About the Role
- Publish and maintain web content using Drupal CMS across multiple NDIA web assets.
- Ensure content meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and best practice user experience principles.
- Review and analyse web content performance and user data to inform publishing decisions.
- Manage publishing requests through Jira Service Desk and team inboxes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver timely, accurate and evidence-based digital content.
- Apply website functionality knowledge and technical terminology to support quality publishing outcomes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and smooth operation of the Web Services team.

About You
- Demonstrated experience publishing and maintaining website content using Drupal CMS or a similar content management system.
- Strong understanding of website functionality, digital publishing principles and web content management.
- Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and digital accessibility requirements.
- Experience interpreting analytics or user data to improve digital content performance.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using Jira, service desk platforms or similar workflow management tools is highly regarded.
- Excellent written communication, attention to detail and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Previous experience within the Australian Public Service or a government environment will be highly regarded.
