Driver

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking a professional and reliable Embassy Driver to support diplomatic operations for our government client in Canberra.
This is a full‑time temporary position offering stable hours and a unique opportunity to work in a prestigious international environment for an anticipated three month period.
About the Role
You will provide high‑quality driving and support services for senior officials, embassy staff, and visiting delegations. This role requires professionalism, discretion, and a strong commitment to safety.

Your responsibilities include:

• Driving the Ambassador to and from official engagements
• Transporting embassy staff, VIPs, and official visitors
• Supporting VIP delegations and high‑level visits
• Ensuring strict adherence to road rules and safe driving practices
• Maintaining vehicles in clean, well‑presented, and safe working order
• Managing routine servicing, inspections, fuelling, and basic maintenance
• Maintaining accurate logs for mileage, fuel, and service records
• Conducting regular checks of oil, water, battery, brakes, and tyres
• Handling diplomatic mail, official documents, and messenger tasks
• Upholding confidentiality, discretion, and professional conduct (suit required for official business)
• Ensuring the safety and security of all passengers and vehicles
• Providing occasional out‑of‑hours driving support

Desirable additional duties:

• Assisting with chancery and residence maintenance tasks as needed

• Hours: 9:15am - 5:00pm
  Salary: $51,800 per annum - paid pro rata.

About You

• Confident in vehicle upkeep and basic mechanical checks
• Knowledgeable of Canberra's roads and traffic conditions
• Able to remain calm under pressure while delivering exceptional service
