EL1 Technical Security Analyst

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking experienced EL1 level Technical Security Analysts to join a high‑profile government program supporting vital national security operations based in BARTON ACT. In this role, you will provide technical data analysis, security monitoring and reporting to strengthen security capability across a complex global environment.
About the Role
You will play a key part in enhancing security operations by delivering high‑quality analysis, reporting and governance support. Responsibilities include:
- Analysing, investigating and archiving technical system data to identify trends, patterns and anomalies.
- Developing and managing weekly, monthly and ad‑hoc reporting processes.
- Engaging with internal stakeholders, including senior executives, to uplift data and analytic capabilities.
- Preparing, visualising and presenting data to support key security priorities.
- Contributing to change initiatives relating to data governance and operational processes.
- Providing accurate and timely advice on security anomalies and incidents.
- Categorising, sorting and archiving alarm and other system data.
- Detecting and reporting potential security breaches.
- Drafting and presenting materials to enhance organisational analytics maturity.
- Supporting other operational tasks as required.

About You
To be successful, you will have:
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Demonstrated analytical, data and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to participate in discussions to resolve data, system or process issues.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to support daily operations.
- Ability to collaborate with senior staff and team members to achieve organisational outcomes.
Desirable Skills
- Experience or exposure to alarm systems, Chubb software (e.g., Paragon, Configurator) or access control systems.
- Qualifications in computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics or equivalent data analytics experience.
- Working knowledge of MS Visio, HyperTerminal and IP networks.
- Experience with MS Power BI.
- Exposure to analytical or programming tools such as Python, Ruby or Splunk.
Security Clearance
- A current Australian Government NV2 clearance or higher is essential.
