APS 5 Project Officer

HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting experienced APS 5 level Project Officers to support a major government initiative across either Deakin, Gungahlin or Tuggeranong ACT. This role sits within divisional support teams and plays a key part in delivering projects and change initiatives through strong communication, stakeholder engagement and data-driven insights.
As an APS 5 level Project Officer, you will work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, governance requirements are met and organisational priorities are supported.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting project coordination and broader project management activities
- Engaging with stakeholders to share information, clarify requirements and support delivery of outcomes
- Analysing complex data and translating insights into clear reports and recommendations
- Contributing to change management initiatives, including communications, training and workshops
- Developing, reviewing and maintaining communication materials with consistent messaging
- Managing documentation, data integrity and reporting in line with governance requirements
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and supporting process enhancements

About You
You are a proactive and organised professional with experience working in project or program environments. You thrive in moderately complex settings and are confident balancing multiple priorities while working with minimal supervision.
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build collaborative working relationships
- Proven experience interpreting data and delivering insights in clear, accessible formats
- Exposure to change management activities and supporting teams through transition
- Sound project support experience, including coordination, reporting and risk awareness
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and confidence managing documentation and information systems
- The ability to exercise judgement, problem-solve and contribute to continuous improvement
