Are you an experienced Vendor Manager, Commercial Manager or Procurement professional with a strong background in contract management and supplier relationships?
We're partnering with a leading Victorian organisation to recruit an experienced Vendor Manager to support a large-scale technology transformation project. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing strategic vendor relationships, ensuring contract compliance, mitigating commercial risk and delivering value across a complex project environment.
About the Role
Working closely with project, legal, finance and commercial stakeholders, you'll be responsible for managing key supplier contracts throughout their lifecycle. Rather than focusing on sourcing or purchasing, this role centres on maintaining strong vendor relationships, monitoring contractual obligations, managing contract variations and ensuring suppliers deliver against agreed outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Manage strategic vendor and supplier relationships across multiple contracts.
Monitor vendor performance against contractual obligations and service levels.
Maintain contract registers, milestones and key commercial documentation.
Coordinate contract amendments, extensions and variations.
Work closely with internal stakeholders including Legal, Finance and Project teams.
Resolve commercial issues and vendor performance concerns.
Support governance activities, reporting and contract compliance.
Ensure value for money while proactively identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
About You
You'll be an experienced commercial or procurement professional who enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships and managing complex contracts.
You'll ideally bring:
Demonstrated experience in Vendor Management, Commercial Management, Procurement or Contract Management.
Strong experience managing contracts throughout their lifecycle.
Proven ability to manage supplier performance and build productive vendor relationships.
Experience negotiating commercial outcomes and resolving supplier issues.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Experience working with technology vendors, professional services or large transformation projects will be highly regarded.
Previous experience within Government or highly regulated environments is advantageous but not essential.
