About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking one, and potentially two, Team Members to join our Open Spaces team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and have experience in horticulture, grounds maintenance, or similar practical outdoor roles.
Key Responsibilities
Working as part of a team, you will assist in delivering general horticultural and open space maintenance services across Council parks, gardens, reserves, streetscapes, and community facilities.
Duties may include:
- Mowing and brush cutting/snipping
- Blowing and litter removal
- Weed spraying and slashing
- Tree planting and mulching
- Garden bed maintenance
- Minor pruning and watering
- Operating small plant and equipment
- Assisting with the presentation and upkeep of public open spaces
- Supporting day-to-day maintenance activities as directed
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential Requirements
- Current Driver's Licence
- Current Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain one)
- Ability to work safely in an outdoor team environment
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions
Desirable Skills & Experience
- MR (Medium Rigid) Licence
- Horticulture, landscaping, parks and gardens, or grounds maintenance experience
- Experience with mowing, spraying, tree planting, or similar outdoor maintenance tasks
- Experience operating small plant and equipment
