Hours: 8:30am to 4:20pm | 36.75 hr/week

About You
You will bring strong hands-on mechanical experience and be comfortable working across a mix of workshop, lab, and stakeholder-facing responsibilities.
- Trade qualification in a relevant mechanical field or recent graduate
- Extensive experience maintaining, repairing, and fabricating mechanical equipment
- Strong workshop capability, including use of lathes, milling machines and other machine tools
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and plan work processes
- The ability to train and supervise others, including students or junior staff
- Solid knowledge of OH&S practices in a technical environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide students in a practical workshop environment
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine materials, methods, and operational sequences
- Fabricate, fit, and assemble components and subassemblies to specification
- Oversee rapid prototyping facilities, including 3D printing and laser cutting (where applicable)
- Perform general workshop maintenance and maintain a safe, organised workspace
- Ensure compliance with all OH&S policies, inductions and safety procedures

- A current Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain)
