APS 3 level Inorganic Analyst

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced APS 3 level Inorganic Analyst to join a highly respected government laboratory based in North Ryde NSW. This is an excellent opportunity for a laboratory professional with hands-on inorganic chemistry experience to contribute to important analytical work across environmental, food and pharmaceutical samples.
You will work within a collaborative, fast-paced laboratory environment, supporting high-quality chemical analysis and regulatory outcomes.
About the Role
In this role, you will support routine inorganic chemical analysis and laboratory operations, working under the guidance of senior analysts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Sample preparation for environmental, food and pharmaceutical testing
- Trace element and nutrient analysis using ICP-MS, ICP-OES and CV-AFS
- Operation of analytical instruments, including basic maintenance
- Straightforward data analysis and preparation of analytical reports
- Working collaboratively to meet turnaround times and quality standards
- Liaising with suppliers and service engineers for consumables and servicing
- Supporting team knowledge through on-the-job learning and guidance

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring practical laboratory experience and a commitment to quality and safety.
We are looking for candidates with:
- Demonstrated experience in sample preparation and trace-element analysis (mandatory)
- Experience in environmental, food or pharmaceutical testing laboratories
- Knowledge of ICP-OES and ICP-MS instrumentation (hands-on experience desirable)
- Understanding of QA/QC principles in NATA-accredited or GMP environments
- Strong awareness of WHS requirements and laboratory safety procedures
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage workload in a busy lab
- A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
