A large Federal Government agency is seeking an APS3 Participant Support Officer to join their frontline service team. This role provides essential administrative and customer support to help Australians access important community and government services.
You'll be part of a fast‑paced, collaborative team where you will manage your own workflow, respond to enquiries, and provide high‑quality support to participants, carers and stakeholders. This position is ideal for candidates with strong administration, customer service or reception experience who enjoy helping people and working with accuracy and care.
About the Role
The Participant Support Officer performs a range of administrative, clerical and customer‑facing duties. You will support participants, handle enquiries, manage office workflows and contribute to smooth day‑to‑day operations.
This position requires professionalism, good judgment, strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and resolve participant enquiries in line with legislative requirements.
- Provide reception/counter support, including assisting visitors with self‑service kiosks and online platforms.
- Respond to phone calls, emails and walk‑in enquiries, providing accurate information or referring to appropriate services.
- Manage shared inbox communication, schedule appointments and monitor team correspondence.
- Coordinate participant appointments using office facilities and ensure accessibility needs are met.
- Undertake basic research, investigations and prepare reports or correspondence.
- Complete high‑volume data entry with accuracy and follow up outstanding actions.
- Receive, record and triage complaints and feedback in business systems.
Skills & Experience
- Australian Citizens only
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully.
- Previous administrative or reception experience in a busy environment.
- Confidence using computer systems, online platforms and data entry tools.
- Ability to manage competing tasks, organise workflow and work effectively within guidelines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to work as part of a supportive, team‑based environment.
