About the Role
As an APS5 level Quality Officer, you will undertake moderately complex quality and compliance assessments under limited supervision. Your work will contribute directly to better decision‑making, improved consistency and enhancements to frontline practices.

Key responsibilities include:
- Applying guidance consistently to assess quality, legislative and process compliance using information from business systems.
- Providing clear, evidence‑based reasons for file review assessments using objective, concise written communication.
- Recording data and commentary accurately using prescribed tools and formats while adhering to strict privacy and data policies.
- Taking appropriate action when risks to participants or the scheme are identified, following established processes.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of improvement strategies aligned with branch and organisational goals.
- Identifying best practice approaches through qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Supporting and mentoring team members to strengthen technical accuracy and quality capability.
Key Skills Required
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong ability to apply legislation, guidance and quality frameworks consistently.
- Excellent written communication skills and accurate data‑recording capability.
- Confidence assessing complex issues and forming logical, well‑reasoned conclusions.
- Sound judgement and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong analytical capability in both qualitative and quantitative review.
- Ability to use reflective and analytical thinking in decision‑making.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities and comfort supporting multiple functions in a changing environment.
- Proven ability to use feedback constructively and take responsibility for outcomes.
Desirable Skills
While not essential, the following will be highly regarded:
- Qualifications in data science, allied health, public health, disability or related fields.
- Experience using qualitative data tools such as NVivo.
