About the Role
As an APS6 level Support Needs Assessor, you will play a critical role in delivering fair, evidence-based and participant-focused assessments.
- Conduct detailed assessments by gathering information from participants, families and representatives
- Analyse complex information and interpret evidence to inform support needs decisions
- Prepare clear, accurate and defensible written assessment reports
- Communicate assessment processes and outcomes in a respectful, trauma-informed way
- Apply legislation, policy and procedures with sound judgement and integrity
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated outcomes
- Use digital systems to manage case information securely and accurately
- Adapt assessment approaches to meet diverse participant needs and environments

About You
You are an experienced allied health or clinical professional with a passion for delivering person-centred outcomes.
Mandatory qualifications:
You must hold a recognised tertiary qualification in one of the following:
- Allied health disciplines (e.g. Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work, Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Counselling, Psychotherapy)
OR - Relevant health discipline (e.g. Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, Education-qualified clinician, NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner)
Key skills and experience:
- Experience conducting support needs assessments or similar person-centred frameworks
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex evidence
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Ability to make sound, defensible decisions in line with policy and legislation
- Commitment to inclusive, strengths-based and trauma-informed practice
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Highly regarded:
- Experience with the I-CAN Support Needs Assessment Tool
- Background in disability, community services or complex case environments
