HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting experienced EL1‑level Project Managers with a strong project and construction management background to support the delivery of security‑sensitive building programs located in BARTON ACT.
This role suits professionals who excel at managing complex projects, ensuring compliance with security standards, and delivering outcomes on time and within budget.
Please note: This is a security‑designated position. Successful candidates must hold a current Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) Security Clearance prior to commencement.
About the Role
As an EL1 Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of security and construction projects, including works undertaken locally and at overseas posts. You will play a critical leadership role, ensuring strict compliance with security, legislative and quality requirements throughout all project phases.
Key duties include:
- Leading and motivating multidisciplinary project teams across all project phases
- Delivering projects in line with approved scope, schedule and budget
- Managing design, documentation and delivery through Initiation, Design, Delivery, Handover and Defects Liability phases
- Administering contracts, variations and change control processes
- Coordinating and reviewing design and construction documentation against security standards
- Managing procurement of consultants and contractors, including drafting SOWs and Work Orders
- Establishing project governance, reporting, document control and administration systems
- Overseeing quality assurance, WHS compliance and NCC compliance
- Managing project risks, costs, contingencies and stakeholder expectations
- Coordinating handover, close‑out activities and lessons learned reporting
- Undertaking site visits and overseas travel as required by project schedules

About You
You are an experienced project professional with a strong background in construction and security‑focused project delivery, capable of managing complexity in highly regulated environments.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in project and/or construction management, ideally within security‑sensitive environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules and resources effectively
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, WHS obligations and the National Construction Code
- Experience reviewing architectural, engineering and "as‑built" documentation
- Ability to manage procurement and oversee consultants and contractors
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience coordinating projects both locally and remotely
- Willingness to travel overseas as required
- Mandatory: Current Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) Security Clearance
