Cleaning Supervisor

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced Cleaning Supervisor to join a dedicated team responsible for maintaining high cleanliness standards at an educational facility in Woden, ACT. This role offers an opportunity to lead cleaning teams, ensure quality control, and contribute to a safe and hygienic environment for students and staff.
Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising and coordinating cleaning teams.
• Managing cleaning equipment inventory and supplies.
• Inspecting cleaning sites to ensure quality standards are met.
• Providing on-the-job training for cleaning staff.
• Performing general and specialised cleaning duties as required.
• Ensuring compliance with WHS standards and ACTPS values, including equity, diversity, and workplace safety.

About You:
We are looking for a motivated individual with:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous supervisory experience in a cleaning environment (highly desirable).
• Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning practices, including:
  • Colour-coded cleaning systems.
  • General cleaning tasks (mopping, vacuuming, dusting).
  • Safe operation and maintenance of cleaning machinery.
  • Proper use, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to troubleshoot cleaning-related issues and train team members.
• Physical capability to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks.
• A strong understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) standards.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Full-time working rights in Australia.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Ability to pass a Police Check before commencing work.
• Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration.

Highly Desirable:

• First Aid Certificate.
• Prior experience supervising cleaning staff.
