An exceptional opportunity exists for a highly experienced Program Office Lead (MAS3) to play a pivotal leadership role within a major, enterprise-wide finance transformation program.
This program is delivering the implementation of a contemporary Financial Management System, alongside the design and adoption of standardised, best-practice financial processes across a complex, multi-agency environment. The initiative represents a significant reform that will reshape financial operations and service delivery at scale.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Program Director, the Program Office Lead will be responsible for leading the Program Management Office (PMO) function, ensuring the effective governance, planning, monitoring, and reporting of program delivery.
The role requires a strategic and disciplined leader capable of operating in a dynamic environment, providing oversight across multiple workstreams and ensuring alignment with program objectives, timelines, and governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of a high-quality Program Office function supporting a large-scale, complex transformation program
- Establish and maintain program governance frameworks, including reporting, risk and issue management, and assurance processes
- Oversee the development and maintenance of program plans, schedules, and key artefacts
- Manage governance forums, including the preparation of comprehensive, timely, and high-quality papers and reporting packs
- Provide oversight of program performance, ensuring risks, issues, and dependencies are actively managed and escalated where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with program leadership and stakeholders to support effective planning, coordination, and delivery outcomes
- Ensure program documentation and decision-making processes comply with relevant legislative and policy requirements
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience leading Program Management Office functions within large-scale, complex programs or transformations
- Proven capability in governance, reporting, scheduling, and risk management at a program level
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across diverse groups
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of executive-level documentation
- Strong judgement, adaptability, and the ability to operate effectively under broad direction in a fast-paced environment
- A comprehensive understanding of project and program management methodologies and governance frameworks
Desirable Experience
- Experience in enterprise system or ERP implementations
- Exposure to large-scale digital or finance transformation programs
- Background in organisational change management
- Familiarity with project collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
