We are seeking a Logistics Officer to support end‑to‑end warehousing, inventory and procurement activities within a large South Australian government organisation. This role suits someone hands‑on, safety‑focused, and comfortable balancing physical warehouse duties with system‑based stock and procurement tasks.
About the Role
The Logistics Officer will manage a broad range of goods, including office supplies, infrastructure materials and general operational items. The workload is approximately 50% warehouse‑based and 50% procurement and system‑related, requiring both physical capability and basic computer proficiency.
Key Accountabilities
- Pick, pack and arrange delivery of a wide variety of goods including office, infrastructure and operational materials.
- Undertake inventory control activities including stocktakes, stock adjustments and maintaining accurate records using computer systems.
- Provide day‑to‑day customer service to internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Support low‑value, low‑risk procurement and purchasing activities within delegated authority.
- Maintain safe, compliant and well‑organised store areas, including correct materials handling and storage practices.
- Ensure all activities are completed in line with WHS requirements, organisational policies and procedures.
- Contribute positively to team outcomes through collaboration, problem‑solving and service excellence.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Current High Risk Forklift Licence
- Current Driver's Licence (Class C)
- Experience in warehousing, stores or inventory management
- Understanding of inventory and procurement processes, or the ability to learn quickly
- Comfortable using computer systems for stocktaking and record keeping
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic MS Word, Excel and Outlook skills
