Salary: SAW4 - $49.54 per hour (including casual loading)
Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a People Operations team within a South Australian Government agency on a temporary basis. This role will support the rollout of a new payroll system release and requires strong technical payroll capability, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with payroll processing activities associated with a new system release
- Ensure accurate data entry, validation and reconciliation across payroll functions
- Support People Operations team members with payroll queries and troubleshooting
- Work within established policies, procedures and legislative frameworks
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll documentation and reporting
About You
- Demonstrated experience using Chris21 is essential
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, awards, and relevant legislation
- High accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to problem‑solve
- Able to work effectively within a team and meet time‑sensitive deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder service skills
- Prior experience in government payroll environments highly regarded
