About the Role
We're currently seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join a leading State Government department on a 12-month temporary assignment.
In this role, you'll apply systems engineering principles to improve the design, integration, and operation of large-scale infrastructure projects. Working with cross-functional teams, you'll define requirements, develop system architectures, and implement innovative solutions that enhance performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply structured systems engineering methodologies to optimise project design, integration, and lifecycle management.
- Develop and refine engineering processes to improve efficiency, delivery, and quality outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to embed systems engineering practices into project lifecycles.
- Use data analytics and modelling tools to inform design and drive operational improvements.
- Support a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
About You
To succeed in this opportunity, you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field - Essential
- Demonstrated experience applying systems engineering principles to complex infrastructure or utility projects - Essential
- Strong understanding of systems integration, requirements management, and lifecycle engineering - Essential
- Proven ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements - Essential
- Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills - Essential
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - Essential
- Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools - Desirable
- Project management experience or certification - Desirable
