A state government department is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join its busy payroll services team for a short-term contract.
You'll be supporting a team that manages payroll processing for a high-volume workforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of payroll functions.
About the Role
As a Payroll Officer, you will:
- Assist with payroll processing and maintenance of employee records. 
- Sort and organise payroll batches for processing. 
- Process new starter contracts and related employment data. 
- Support the team with pay-related administration and documentation. 
- Deliver excellent customer service by assisting with payroll queries. 
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- A current National Police Clearance ath the time of applying (mandatory). 
- Payroll experience and knowledge of Chris21 (desirable). 
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel - intermediate level). 
- Accurate data entry skills (minimum 40 wpm). 
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines. 
- Adaptability, reliability, and strong communication skills. 
- Ability to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
