We're seeking an experienced HR professional to join a large Federal Government Agency supporting the development and implementation of people policies and workplace relations initiatives.
In this APS6 role, you'll play a key part in shaping and maintaining a fair, consistent, and inclusive workplace through expert advice, policy development, and stakeholder engagement. Working under limited direction, you'll interpret complex legislation, refine existing frameworks, and ensure alignment with APS standards and the Agency's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and frameworks.
Provide sound, practical advice on workplace conditions and policy interpretation.
Support implementation of finalised policies and communicate changes across the Agency.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to refine and update policy content.
Draft clear, engaging communications for a range of audiences, including intranet content.
Research and apply HR-related legislation, including the Public Service Act and Enterprise Agreements.
Contribute to business improvement initiatives within the People and Culture division.
Key Skills and Experience:
Strong HR expertise in an APS or public sector context.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply HR-related legislation and industrial instruments.
Experience developing and drafting HR policies under limited direction.
Proven ability to engage and manage stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent written communication skills, with experience tailoring messaging for different audiences.
Awareness of accessibility and inclusion requirements within an APS setting.
