Youth and Community Worker - City of Sydney
Location: Town Hall House, Sydney, NSW (100% office-based)
Employment Type: Fixed-term, up to 6 months

Pay Rate: $35-$40 per hour plus super
Hours: Up to 25 hours per week (working between 9:30am - 5:30pm). Roster provided at least 1 week in advance
Are you passionate about supporting young people and your local community? The City of Sydney is seeking Youth and Community Workers to deliver innovative social, cultural, educational, and recreational programs that promote inclusion, connection, and wellbeing.
About the Role:
You will plan, implement, and evaluate programs that empower young people and foster social inclusion. Working closely with internal teams and community partners, you will help create a welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging programs that enhance social inclusion and wellbeing for young people.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, service providers, and stakeholders.
- Support day-to-day program operations and ensure compliance with safety and legislative requirements.
- Provide guidance, support, and holistic services to young people and the wider community.
What We're Looking For:
- Tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience planning and delivering programs for young people.
- Current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo a Criminal Record Check.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage effectively with diverse communities.
