HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced WHS Administrative Support Officer to join a high-performing team within a large government department based in BRISBANE City. This long-term opportunity is ideal for a motivated safety-focused professional who enjoys combining administration, compliance support and stakeholder engagement.
About the Role
In this position, you will support the effective operation of the organisation's Health and Safety Management System and play a key role in WHS training, reporting and compliance activities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing administrative support to the Health and Safety Management System.
- Coordinating WHS training and information sessions, including liaising with external providers.
- Managing and maintaining the regional WHS training register.
- Delivering WHS&E guidance to operational teams on system processes, legislative requirements and emerging technologies.
- Supporting and coordinating WHS&E audits and inspections for both internal and contractor-delivered work.
- Leading incident and hazard investigations, including formal reporting and staff education.
- Preparing WHS performance reports for senior management.
- Supporting rehabilitation and return-to-work processes in collaboration with regional leadership.
- Leading staff development in new WHS&E technologies, including asbestos and lead management practices.

About You
To be successful, you will bring:
- Proven experience in WHS administration, coordination or compliance.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, systems and audit processes.
- Ability to lead and support incident investigations and safety reporting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong skills across the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Highly desirable: qualification in Work Health and Safety.
- Project management capability and strong customer service focus.
