Misuse of Our Brand: Protecting Job Seekers from Scams
At HOBAN Recruitment, we take the security of job seekers seriously. Unfortunately, scammers may attempt to misuse our brand by posting fake job ads or posing as HOBAN recruiters to collect personal information fraudulently.
How Scammers Operate
Scammers may:
- Impersonate HOBAN Recruitment representatives via email, phone, social media, or job websites.
- Advertise fake job opportunities using our name.
- Request personal or financial details, such as bank account information, copies of identification, or upfront payments for training, uniforms, or job placements.
- Contact job seekers via WhatsApp, Signal, or other messaging apps while posing as HOBAN recruiters. Please note that HOBAN does not use WhatsApp, Signal, or social media direct messages for recruitment.
How to Spot a Fake Job Scam
Be cautious if:
- You are asked to pay fees for job applications, training, or uniforms.
- The job description contains poor grammar, unusual formatting, or vague details.
- The contact details do not match official HOBAN Recruitment channels.
- You receive job offers via social media or messaging apps rather than official HOBAN emails.
- You are asked to provide sensitive personal information before a formal interview process.
How to Protect Yourself
- Apply through official channels: Always apply through our website: www.hoban.com.au or official email addresses ending in @hoban.com.au.
- Adjust your privacy settings: Limit who can contact you on messaging apps to prevent unsolicited messages from unknown numbers.
- Report suspicious activity: Use social media ‘Report’ functions for fake job ads and notify us immediately.
- Never share personal details unless you are sure you are dealing with a legitimate recruiter.
