We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Internal Sales Representative to join a busy branch environment.
In this role, you will provide high-quality customer service while supporting the growth and development of existing and prospective customers. You will act as a product and service expert, helping customers find the right solutions while ensuring orders, quotations and sales activities are handled accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service, including processing customer orders and responding promptly to enquiries, concerns and complaints.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and identify their ongoing needs.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
- Prepare quotations in collaboration with the Branch Manager and relevant sales team members.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer records and CRM activity.
- Assist with sales projects, proposals and marketing initiatives.
- Work closely with branch teams, external sales, product and inventory teams, supply chain and other departments to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Support pricing, stocktaking, purchasing and inventory-related activities.
- Prepare required sales reports, records and documentation.
- Participate in branch meetings and contribute to sales improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a strong focus on workplace health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Build positive and professional relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team while also being comfortable working independently.
- Previous experience in an internal sales, customer service, sales support or similar role, preferably within an industrial, trade, logistics or distribution environment.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Good product knowledge and the ability to understand customer requirements.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive, practical and solutions-focused attitude.
- The ability to work quickly, accurately and methodically in a busy environment.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety.
Systems & TechnologyYou will be comfortable using standard business systems, including:
- Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- CRM and customer database systems.
- Inventory and sales/order management systems.
