About the Opportunity
Bring your event coordination skills and community spirit to one of Sydney's most vibrant councils!
 We're looking for an Events and Activations Support Officer to help plan and deliver some of our city's most iconic celebrations - including Lakemba Nights during Ramadan, Australia Day, Lunar New Year, and Christmas Carols.
 
 In this hands-on and rewarding role, you'll support the delivery of Council's major events and activations calendar, ensuring our community experiences are memorable, inclusive, and well-executed.
 
Key Responsibilities
✨ Support the coordination and delivery of major Council events, with a focus on Lakemba Nights during Ramadan
 ✨ Manage stallholder communications, quotes, requisitions, and onsite logistics
 ✨ Liaise with community groups, vendors, internal teams, and key stakeholders
 ✨ Assist with budgeting, invoicing, and procurement using Council's systems
 ✨ Take meeting minutes, monitor customer requests, and provide general administrative event support
 ✨ Support after-hours and weekend events as required
 
About You
We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys bringing people together through events.
 
 You'll bring:
 ✅ Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
 ✅ Proven experience supporting large-scale or community events
 ✅ Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
 ✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team
 ✅ Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
 ✅ A current C Class Driver's Licence and Working with Children Check
 
 Desirable:
 ⭐ Qualification in Event Management, Marketing, or related field
 ⭐ Experience with traffic management, minute taking, or community engagement
