Casual Infrastructure Support Team Member

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking reliable and technically capable Casual Infrastructure Support Team Members to provide hands-on technology support for a major upcoming event in Melbourne.

About the Role:
You will work alongside the Technology Team to assist with the deployment, installation and support of temporary IT infrastructure during the event setup, live event and bump-out periods. The role will involve setting up and testing technology, supporting network connectivity and troubleshooting technical issues to help ensure all infrastructure is operational prior to the event opening.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup and deployment of desktops, network switches and other IT equipment
• Assist with testing network and connectivity services
• Support wireless network setup
• Check network connectivity across operational and vendor locations
• Assist with device setup and deployment
• Troubleshoot basic IT and connectivity issues
• Respond to technical requests and incidents
• Provide hands-on support to event staff, contractors and operational teams
• Assist with cabling and equipment where required
• Escalate technical issues when necessary

About You

We are looking for candidates who have:

• Previous experience supporting IT or technology environments
• Basic networking and troubleshooting knowledge
• Experience setting up or deploying IT devices
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• A reliable and proactive approach to work
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility and a willingness to assist wherever required
• The ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Experience

• Experience with IT cabling
• Previous experience supporting major events, exhibitions or festivals

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on role requiring:

• Frequent walking and working on your feet
• Manual handling of IT equipment and cabling
• Working in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Availability for early morning, evening and weekend shifts

Pay Rate: $36.81 per hour + penalties where applicable
Shifts: Between 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM
