Working closely with the Operations Manager, production team, customers, and installation contractors, you'll play a critical role in ensuring projects move seamlessly from order through to installation.

About the Role
As the Production Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, monitoring workflow, and ensuring manufacturing activities align with customer requirements, factory capacity, and delivery commitments.
You will act as the central point of communication between customers, production teams, subcontractors, and management, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain the master production schedule.
- Coordinate production activities based on customer demand, labour availability, material supply, and manufacturing capacity.
- Prioritise workloads to maximise efficiency and ensure on-time delivery.
Production Coordination & Delivery
- Manage work-in-progress through the Alspec V6 / APS MRP system.
- Coordinate production, freight, deliveries, and installation schedules.
- Monitor order progress and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts.
Customer & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the key point of contact between customers, production teams, subcontractors, and management.
- Provide accurate updates regarding production progress, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Build strong working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
Performance Monitoring
- Monitor key operational KPIs including DIFOT, production capacity, and workflow efficiency.
- Identify potential bottlenecks, production risks, and scheduling constraints.
- Implement practical solutions to minimise delays and maximise productivity.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve production planning processes and workflow efficiency.
- Support operational initiatives that enhance productivity, communication, and customer outcomes.
- Provide additional operational coordination and administrative support as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Previous experience in Production Planning, Scheduling, Manufacturing Coordination, or a similar role.
- Experience working within a made-to-order manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of aluminium fabrication, manufacturing processes, or related production environments.
- Experience using Alspec V6 is essential.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills will be highly regarded.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience will be viewed favourably.
